Chat and phone mockups for client videos and ads

MockClip's licence covers client work and paid ads on the Studio plan, and its brand-free apps are the templates made for that work: a text chat, an AI assistant chat, lock-screen notifications and a dating app, each under your client's own name and colour.

The templates that recreate real apps (WhatsApp, iMessage, ChatGPT, Instagram DM and others) are for your own content, illustration, review and parody. MockClip's licence grants no rights in those brands on any plan, and its terms say to use a brand-free app for ads and client work.

How to make a client video

  1. 1

    Pick the brand-free app

Text Chat for a conversation, AI Assistant Chat for a product demo, lock-screen notifications for a hook, dating swipe for a match story.

  2. 2

Put the client's name and colour on it

Set the brand name and accent colour in the brand panel. The AI assistant shows the name in its header and composer; the notifications show it in the banner header with a monogram icon.

  3. 3

    Script it, or describe it

Write the messages and timing by hand, or sign in and type a description into Describe it: it writes the clip, which you then refine in the manual editor.

  4. 4

    Export for the edit

Export MP4 or GIF on any plan, or a transparent MOV or WebM on Creator and Studio for compositing in your editor. Export runs in your browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which MockClip plan covers client work?

Studio. On Free, Pro and Creator, MockClip videos are for your own content, monetised posts on your own channels included. Work for clients and paid ads need Studio (€19.90/month), which also removes the watermark from the brand-free apps. Every brand-free app can be tried on any plan with a watermark, and every paid plan can get a company invoice with your VAT number.

Can I use a fake WhatsApp, iMessage or Instagram chat in a client's ad?

Not under MockClip's licence. Those templates recreate designs that are trademarks of their owners, MockClip is not affiliated with them, and its licence grants no rights in those brands on any plan. MockClip's terms say to use a brand-free app for ads and client work, and to check the owner's brand rules before using their design in advertising.

What are brand-free apps?

Original MockClip app designs that recreate no real app: a text chat, an AI assistant chat, lock-screen notifications and a dating app. You set the app's name and accent colour, so the video carries your client's brand rather than someone else's.

Can I try a brand-free app before subscribing?

Yes. Every brand-free app opens on any plan, signed in or not, and exports with a small watermark. Studio removes it and adds the licence for client work and paid ads.

Can I invoice the subscription to my agency?

Yes. Every paid plan can get a company invoice with your VAT number.
