Create realistic WhatsApp conversation animations
Zooms the text, bubbles and bars together. The frame and bezel stay the same.
The preview plays as soon as it's ready. ⌘/Ctrl + Enter to send.
MockClip turns a scripted WhatsApp chat into a video. You write the messages and pick who sends each one, and the template plays them back on a WhatsApp-style screen: the other person's typing bubble shows before each reply, your messages are typed into the input field, and the read receipts tick over. Then you export it, ready to post.
It all runs in your browser, with nothing to install. Start in Describe it mode, where you type a sentence about the conversation and the AI drafts the whole clip, or build it message by message in the manual editor. Every line, delay, reaction, and receipt stays editable until you export.
In Describe it mode, type an idea like "a coworker asking me to cover their shift on my birthday" and the AI writes the chat. It requires a Google or GitHub sign-in. Or use the manual editor.
Enter the contact name, a status line such as "online", and an avatar, then pick light or dark. For each message, set the delay, how long the other person types, and your typing speed.
Tick Group chat, name the group and list its members. Each message from the other side picks its sender, whose name shows above their bubbles in its own colour, the header lists the members, and it reads "<member> is typing…" while someone types. Three or more senders make it feel real.
Press play to check the pacing. Then choose MP4 or GIF at 720p or Full HD and 15 to 30 fps; the Creator plan adds a transparent MOV or WebM and 60 fps. The video is encoded in your browser.
Turn on the single gray, double gray, and double blue checks for each of your messages, each with its own delay, so a message visibly goes from sent to read.
Add like, heart, laugh, surprised, sad, or pray reactions under any message, and set how long after the message they pop in.
Give each message its own time, like 17:47, and place a date pill such as "Fri, Jul 26" above it to show a chat spanning several days.
Upload an image to any message. It appears blurred and dimmed with a download badge, then sharpens into view above the text.
The on-screen keyboard slides up while you type and highlights each key as it is pressed. Send, receive, typing, and key-click sounds can go into video exports.
Tell a misunderstanding, a plot twist, or a slow reveal through a chat and post it as a vertical clip on TikTok, Reels, or YouTube Shorts.
Show a customer chatting with your business about a booking or a support question, without filming a real phone or exposing real numbers.
Script a delivery driver who cannot find your house for a comedy skit. Keep it clearly fictional so viewers know it is staged.
Open the WhatsApp template, then describe the conversation in Describe it mode or add messages in the manual editor. Set the contact, typing, and read receipts, press play to check the pacing, and export. It all happens in your browser.
Yes. Each of your messages has separate switches for the sent, delivered, and read checks, each with its own delay. Set them in sequence and the video shows one gray check, then two gray, then two blue.
Yes, on the Creator plan. Pick MOV (ProRes 4444) or WebM (VP9) and the area around the phone bezel stays transparent, so you can place the phone over other footage in your editor. The chat screen itself stays opaque.
You can open the template and start building a conversation for free, right in your browser, with nothing to install. For what each plan includes, take a look at the pricing page.
The template follows the WhatsApp chat layout: a header with avatar, name, and call icons, green outgoing bubbles, reaction pills, and the input bar with the round mic button. MockClip is an independent tool, not affiliated with WhatsApp.
