Text message videos for client ads, without the iMessage brand

For a text-message scene in a client's ad or brand video, use MockClip's brand-free Text Chat: an original messaging app with your accent colour on the bubbles, typing indicators, reactions and read receipts. For a notification hook, use the brand-free lock-screen notifications, which show your client's app name and a monogram icon.

MockClip's iMessage templates recreate iMessage, a trademark of Apple Inc. They are for your own content, not for client work or paid ads, on any plan. Client work and paid ads need the Studio plan.

Which template for which job

For the client's ad: Text Chat and lock-screen notifications

Text Chat is an original messaging app: a left-aligned header with the contact's name and photo, bubbles in your accent colour, an outlined composer. It deliberately does not look like iMessage, which is the point: the scene carries the story without borrowing Apple's design.

Lock-screen notifications slide banners in under the clock, one after another, with your client's app name in the banner header and a monogram icon in their colour. A good first two seconds for an ad.

For your own channel: the iMessage templates

The iMessage chat and iMessage notification templates are for your own content: text-story skits, explainers, reviews. Free, Pro and Creator cover your own content, monetised posts included.

MockClip is not affiliated with Apple. Don't present a clip as a real conversation where that would mislead people, and don't suggest that Apple endorses you or your product.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a fake iMessage conversation in a client's ad?

Not under MockClip's licence. The iMessage templates recreate a design that is a trademark of Apple Inc., MockClip is not affiliated with Apple, and its licence grants no rights in that brand on any plan. MockClip's terms say to use a brand-free app for ads and client work: Text Chat or lock-screen notifications, on the Studio plan.

Does Text Chat look like iMessage?

No. Text Chat is an original design with its own header, squared bubble corner and outlined composer, in your accent colour. It keeps the parts that make a text scene work on video: typing, reactions, read receipts and images.

Can I make the iPhone notification hook for an ad?

Yes, with the brand-free lock-screen notifications: banners slide in under the clock with your client's app name and a monogram icon in their colour. The iMessage notification template shows the Messages app and is for your own content.

Which plan do I need for client ads?

Studio. On Free, Pro and Creator, MockClip videos are for your own content, monetised posts on your own channels included. Work for clients and paid ads need Studio (€19.90/month), which also removes the watermark from the brand-free apps. Every brand-free app can be tried on any plan with a watermark, and every paid plan can get a company invoice with your VAT number.
